Full-time professors (teaching commitment of 8 hours per semester week) receive the following:
- 2 research assistants at 70% (classification F4/3)
- 50% secretariat
- basic IT infrastructure at each workplace for employees at 50% and above
- one-time allowance of CHF 5,000 for the procurement of a reference library
For professors below 100% employment, the allowance for research assistants is reduced according to employment level. Instead of a secretariat, these professors receive CHF 25,000 per year for administrative costs.
Sabbatical
Professors are released for one paid semester in seven years for the purpose of carrying out research. The guidelines are regulated separately.
Secondary occupations and sidelines
More than 50% of HSG’s overall budget is earned on the market, making HSG by far the most successful Swiss university. Entrepreneurially minded university employees are also in demand outside HSG and therefore have further business opportunities.
In the case of a 100% appointment, a total of one day per week may be spent on a secondary occupation. The guidelines are regulated separately.
